THE ESSENCE OF REIKI

·
SPECIAL EVENTS IN TORONTO
WITH JAPANESE REIKI TEACHERS
HIROSHI DOI AND HYAKUTEN INAMOTO
June 4-8, 2010

·

HIROSHI DOI

Reiki Master and author Hiroshi Doi lives in Ashiya City, Japan, where he teaches Gendai Reiki Hô to students from around the country. As a well-respected international teacher, he has also shared his knowledge and understanding with a great number of students from around the world.

Doi-sensei is a member of the Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai (the original Reiki Society) which has been preserving Usui-senseis teachings since 1922. He has received training from the 6th president of the Gakkai, Mrs. Koyama who in turn had been initiated by Admiral Taketomi, one of Usui-senseis students and 3rd president of the Gakkai. It is through this energy lineage (Usui - Taketomi Koyama Doi) that Gendai Reiki Hô offers a deep and firm connection with the roots of Reiki and with Mikao Usui.

Gendai Reiki Hô adds to the techniques of Western Reiki, the original teachings and the energetic and meditative practices of self-purification and self-growth developed by Usui-sensei. Thus, this system, devoted to the true spirit of the practice of Mikao Usui, focuses on Reiki Ryoho as both an energy healing modality and a path to spiritual self-realization through the enhancement of the level of Reiki energy flow.

HYAKUTEN INAMOTO

Buddhist monk and Reiki Master, Hyakuten Inamoto is the founder of the Kyoto Healing Centre where he holds weekly classes and Reiki shares for both Japanese and foreign students.

Although officially belonging to Jodo-Shu or Pure Land branch of Japanese Buddhism, Hyakuten-sensei is a non-sectarian and independent monk who seeks authentic spiritual experiences (“trying not to be just a functionary carrying out the ceremony”). When asked about his temple or monastery, Hyakuten-sensei answers in his typical wise yet humorous fashion: “I do not live in a temple or monastery. I am the temple. People are the temple. My temple is where I am. It is a mobile temple.”

Komyo Reiki Kai, the system Hyakuten-sensei has created, presents Reiki as it was understood and commonly practiced in the 1930s in Japan. This system places emphasis on spiritual enfoldment through the practice of Reiki Ryoho, aiming for “satori” or enlightenment.

Hyakuten-sensei learned Reiki from Mrs. Chiyoko Yamaguchi who had trained with Dr. Chujiro Hayashi, one of Usui-senseis original students.
