The Japanese term "do" refers to a pathway, "a road", and thus "a way of life", "an art" or a type of spiritual training or practice, such as Bu-do (the way of martial arts: Karate-do, Ju-do, Aiki-do), Ken-do (the way of swordsmanship), Bushi-do (the way of the samurai), Sa-do (the way of tea), Ka-do (the way of flowers), Sho-do (the way of calligraphy), Kyu-do (the way of archery), etc.

Art, philosophy, religion, and ethics are intertwined in Japanese culture. To refer to Reiki practice as ReikiDo is to imply that it too, is an art - a philosophical, spiritual, ethical way of being in the world leading to awakening, satori, or anshin ritsumei (profound inner peace). This understanding is the foundation of the Japanese school, Komyo ReikiDo: "Reiki Ryoho is not just about the art of healing; it is about the art and the Way of spiritual growth and development."

This four-day class will cover all four levels of the Komyo ReikiDo system: Shoden, Chuden, Okuden, and Shinpiden. Ample time will be allowed for instruction, practice, and reiju (attunements). At the end of the class, participants will be able to practice and teach with the understanding that Reiki Ryoho is a healing art and a gateway to spiritual awakening and growth, involving simplicity, effortlessness, and surrender.

Fluent in English, Hyakuten-sensei is always open - willing and ready to answer any questions. He is much loved and appreciated by his students for his great warmth, gentle manner, kind smile, and easy humour.
